Lower the Voting Age?

Yesterday, on November 6th, millions of Americans ages 18 and older cast their votes for President.  The National Youth Rights Association wants to give even more people the right to vote by lowering the voting age to 16.  Supporters of the idea say people would be more likely to vote if they started at a younger age.  They argue that anyone who's old enough to drive and work should be allowed to vote too.  They also point out that some other nations, like Brazil, let 16-year-olds vote.  Opponents say that people under 18 aren't ready to vote.  They argue that 16-year-olds are too young to understand the issues or make informed decisions about politics.  What do YOU think?

I think that they should let kids vote at 16 because if some 16 year olds wants to vote its no fair if they cant vote and thats why i think they should let us vote at the age of 16

I think it is fair for 16 and older people to vote because there might be more votes and not be close to a tie. That is my opioin, what's yours?

i think kids should be able to vote because its our country too and we should be able to pick who our leader is.

I think that we should be able to vote at a younger age and i also think we shouldn't because some people aren't mature enough and some people are so they can still lower the voting age but people that aren't mature should be serious about voting.

I think that they should not change the age limit because most people who are 16 don't have jobs or as much responsibility. I'm not saying ALL teens are like that. but I don't think it is a good idea to change the age maybe there can be a requirment or be approved to vote at 16 in certain states but i don't think they should change the voting age.

I think we should leave the voting age at 18 because kids at 16 arent old enough. They dont know what it takes to vote.

I think age 18 is better because when you are 18 you are an adult. People age 16 proably arent serious about the election. So I say age 18 should stay that way

I think that it would be the right thing to let 16 years olds and over should vote because the state always said that let your voice be heard and this is there world to. So they should have a say so on what should go on in there world because they have to live in as well

I think people 16 should be ale to vote because 18 year old people still are in high school with 16 year old people. Another reason is if people 16 are ale to have the responsibilty to drive a car how come they can't vote.

I say let people younger than 18 vote because they might understand what there actually talking about plus they have a voice in the community too.

I think they should keep the same age limit to 18 and up but not age 16 because it too low and when you are 18 you could at leese have a car or a jod or even move out of your parents place to have a reasponsibility to do that and vote.

I think they shouldn't lower the age to vote.

I think that kids 16 will not understand the things that are right. If they start voting for the wrong person because their friends are we could have the wrong president or vice president

I think that they should let 16 year olds vote because 16 year olds should be responsible at that age and they probabley are resonsible.

I think that people 16 shouldn't be able to vote. I think that because they might not understand what is right and wrong and they might just vote for the person that their friends are voting for and that might not be good.

I think 16 year olds should be allowed to vote because they can already drive and have a job it's like being an adult already.

I think that lowering the voting age is a good idea because if they can work and drive they are practically adults. I think they are ready to vote because they probably know a lot about the Democrat and republican because it is the ruler of their country. The people that are able to vote if they lower the voting age are sure to make a smart decision on who to vote for. I think that 18 is a bit too high to set the voting age because these days teenagers mature faster. Therefore, I think that lowering the voting age to 16 years old is a very good idea because it can help 16 year olds be more independent about themselves. They are old enough to make a decision.
